On (Art) Writing

A three part workshop that prepares participants for the (un)savoury facets of writing as a practicing (or soon-to-be practicing) artist.

Each 3 hour session will delve into a specific part of the art writing process which will be taught through a collaborative, peer reviewed + holistic framework.

May 13th, 2023 (13h00 – 16h00) – On Writing an Artist Statement

May 14th, 2023 (13h00 – 16h00) – On Writing an Art Proposal

May 15th, 2023 (18h00 – 21h00) – On Writing a Budget + C.V.

The workshops will be complemented (supplemented) with weekly readings, prompts + questions to help each participant to refine, redefine + reimagine their own respective writing(s).

The workshops are capped to 10 participants with preference given to individuals who can attend all 3 workshops.

The workshops will be offered in a bilingual setting (english + french).

Upon completion of all 3 workshops, each participant will be provided with a one on one mentoring session to prepare, edit + finalize their art writing before they choose to (or not to) send it off into the “real” world.
