How much parsley is in your tabbouli?

This workshop is part cooking class, part performance workshop. We will make and eat a
tabbouli salad using Broussard’s family recipe. We will discuss tabbouli preparation tips,
compare recipes, and offer an array of cooking utensils. While we prepare the meal, we will
explore performance ideas based on suggestions from the participants. Topics will include
cultural memory and how it relates to place.

Rachel Broussard (she/her + they/them) is a multimedia artist based on Treaty 6 Territory
originally from Lafayette, Louisiana. Rachel holds a MFA Studio Art from the University of
Saskatchewan. They work in Saskatoon, SK as Program Director at PAVED Arts.
