Welcome Our New Admin Director Allison Luff

Neutral Ground is thrilled to welcome Allison Luff into the position of Administrative Director. Allison began in her role, overseeing membership outreach and development, as well as the administrative and fiscal functions of the organization, on November 3, 2020.
A trained musician and skilled arts administrator, Allison brings extensive experience in arts management to her new role. Allison previously served as the Managing Director (Interim) of the Amadeus Choir of Greater Toronto and held roles as Development Officer of the Regina Symphony Orchestra and President of the Saskatchewan Registered Music Teachers Association.

During her time with the Amadeus Choir, Allison oversaw membership, production, artistic and educational programming, fundraising, financial management, and more, working in conjunction with the Artistic Director and Board of Directors. She was instrumental in moving the entire 2020-2021 season from in-person to a completely virtual season.

An accomplished pianist, she has pursued her music education all over Canada, the United States, Germany, and Hungary. Allison performs as a soloist and collaborative pianist teaches private lessons and serves as a piano adjudicator for community music festivals.

Allison holds a double Master’s of Music degree in Music Education and Piano Performance from Western University, London, Ontario, and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance with distinction from the University of Alberta. In 2018, she received a Diploma in Kodály Music Education with a specialization in Piano Pedagogy from the Kodály Institute of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Kesckemét, Hungary. She presented her research on the use of Kodály concepts in the private piano studio at the 2017 International Kodály Symposium in Camrose, Alberta.
In addition to her extensive experience as a solo pianist, Allison has performed in contemporary ensembles, presented an art-song concert by

Hungarian composers Liszt and Kodály with Soprano Adria McCulloch, and published a thesis on composer Charles Ives. Allison loves to cook, travel, and has an orange tabby-cat named Calcifer.
