Reception and exhibition walkthrough with artist: March 15, 8:00 pm

My painting practice is constructed on a recurrent interest in the confrontation of eclectic imagery. I am fascinated by the interconnections created when two paintings are brought together to form a mongrel. To do so, I dab in different image references: hard edge painting, comic book illustration, and historical genres (romantic landscape for example) to explore the rapport of visual entities in relation to each other.

Via diptych and polyptych compositions, I attempt to initiate dialogues between different image styles and possibly instigate new jointed interpretations. By combining fragments of historical ways of thinking with a genuine intake on new social and aesthetical aspects of reality, my work aims at building new legitimate objectives for the continuation of the medium.
