Modular Synthesizers with Ernie Dulanowksy (a.k.a. pulsewidth)

Have you ever wanted to know more about modular synthesizers? Considering building your own but not sure where to start? Join Ernie Dulanowsky (a.k.a. pulsewidth) as he takes participants through a brief history of modular synthesizers, their various components, how they work, along with some basic patches and a rundown of his very own modular synthesizer.

November 14, 2015; 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Build a CMOS Noise-Maker with Ernie Dulanowsky (a.k.a. pulsewidth)

*** Please register in advance for this workshop by contacting our Production Coordinator at jaye.kovach@gmail.com. This workshop will cost $20, payable in advance, as we will be ordering a special kit for each participant. Space is limited! You can pre-pay online to ensure your spot at https://neutralground.sk.ca/?page=store&type=3&id=2015100815152730 or in person at Neutral Ground. The deadline for registration and payment is November 1st.

Participants will build their very own noise-maker based on the 40106 hex inverting Schmitt trigger chip. We’ll make a basic tone generator with one section of the chip, then learn how to use the rest of the chip as additional generators that can modulate one another or be mixed together for a bigger sound. Participants get to keep what they make!
