Reception to follow.

Everyone welcome.

Since 1986, Don Ritter has been creating large, interactive video-sound installations and performances that are hybrids of conceptual art, video art, sound art, performance, and new media. His most recent installations are social portraits that reflect peculiar human behaviors, such as hegemony and Schadenfreude. The content of his installations is conveyed to audiences experientially, through the behaviors that they perform within the works. His performances present integrated experiences of image and sound, and feature large projections of interactive video controlled by live, improvised music. During this lecture, Ritter describes his work through explanations, photos, and video documentation. His installations and performances have been presented at museums, festivals, and galleries throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.
