Cyril Chen (陳嘉雯, he/they/hers) joins Neutral Ground as a gallery assistant this summer.
Cyril Chen is an animator and expanded media artist who was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, Treaty 4 Territory with family from the Guangdong and Hong Kong regions of China. Cyril’s work stems from the exploration of migration, separation, and the ways in which we are intertwined with cyberspace.
This upcoming fall, they will be a third year Honours Bachelor of Animation student at Sheridan College. They previously studied expanded media at NSCAD University. Last summer, Cyril was an archives assistant at Neutral Ground ARC.
They are excited to start their second summer term at Neutral Ground, this time as a gallery assistant. They’re looking forward to working with the staff, board of directors, Le Petit Chien, and exhibiting artists, digging a bit more into the Neutral Ground archives, and assisting with the new website!
